1. What the service does
Mailrecord is a web-based diagnostic tool that reads published DNS records (MX, SPF, DMARC, DKIM) for a domain name you provide and displays them in plain language. It does not send email, does not store data, does not create accounts, and does not provide any guarantee about mail delivery, authentication, or security.
2. Use of the service
You may use Mailrecord to look up DNS records for any domain you have a legitimate interest in checking. You agree not to:
- Use the service for systematic scanning, subdomain enumeration, or bulk lookup of domains without a legitimate interest in each one.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, abuse, or overload the service.
- Represent the output of this tool as a security audit, compliance certification, or guarantee of mail delivery.
3. No accounts, no stored data
Mailrecord does not offer user accounts, does not store lookup history, and does not retain any data you submit. Each lookup is handled independently and results are returned in the HTTP response only. There is no persistence layer. Closing the page or clearing your browser cache removes all results.
4. Billing
Free tier: The Free plan is available at no cost with no billing relationship. No payment information is collected.
Pro plan (planned): Pro is not yet available to purchase. When it launches, it will be a recurring subscription billed on a periodic basis (monthly or annual). The price will be stated clearly on the pricing page. Payment will be processed through a third-party payment processor (Stripe). The operator will not store, process, or have access to full card numbers.
No payments accepted today: No payment processor is currently connected to this service. The checkout demonstration on the pricing page is a visual preview only — it does not process, transmit, or store any payment information, and it creates no subscription or obligation.
Failed payments (Pro, when available): If a recurring payment fails (card declined, expired, or insufficient funds), the following process will apply:
- The payment processor will automatically retry the charge on a schedule (typically after 3 days, then again after 5 days, then again after 7 days).
- If all retries fail, access to Pro features will be suspended until a successful payment is processed.
- No data will be removed or deleted during a suspension for non-payment.
Refund policy (Pro, when available): Refund requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Because this service has zero data-processing cost per user (no storage, no computation per lookup beyond DNS resolution), the expectation is that refunds will be granted for accidental duplicate charges or if the service becomes unavailable for an extended period. There is no cooling-off or statutory cancellation right specific to this service beyond what applicable consumer law provides.
Price changes: The operator reserves the right to change prices for the Pro plan with advance notice communicated through the pricing page. Existing subscribers will not be affected until their next renewal period.
5. No email, no notifications
Mailrecord does not send email, does not offer notifications or alerts, and does not support scheduled re-checks. The service has no mechanism to contact you.
6. Limitations and disclaimers
DNS records are public data. The information returned by this service is available to any party on the internet. Mailrecord does not add, modify, or interpret this data beyond presenting it in plain language.
An SPF record that appears valid may be incomplete due to the ten-lookup limit. A DMARC record with p=none enforces nothing. These are properties of the DNS records themselves, not limitations of the tool.
7. No warranty
This service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The operator makes no guarantee that the service will be available, accurate, or uninterrupted. The DNS lookup data comes from third-party resolvers and may be subject to their availability and accuracy.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use this service, including but not limited to decisions made based on the output of the tool.
9. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. No other notification will be sent because there is no mechanism to send one.
10. Governing law
No jurisdiction has been selected because no legal entity has been registered. The operator must designate a governing law and jurisdiction before this term is enforceable.
